Bidding

We are delighted that you are considering bidding at one of our auctions. Below, we have compiled some important points to enable you to bid and make the process easier for you.

We offer you four different ways to bid at our auction. The auction is public:

  • Bidding in person
  • Submitting a written purchase offer
  • Bidding as a telephone bidder and
  • Bidding online – live via the website www.hg.auction of HUMER, GRANNER & CO GmbH

Bidding in person at the auction

In order to bid, prospective buyers must register as bidders in their own name before the auction. This requires the presentation of photo ID for identification purposes and the disclosure of address details. When bidding in person, registration takes place at the location and on the day of the auction before it begins. Registration is free of charge.

For personal participation during the auction, you will be given a bidder card with your bidder number after registering at the reception desk. Bidding is only possible with a bidder card.

Each bidder present in person, regardless of the type of bid, will be assigned a bidder number on site. This ensures that bidding remains anonymous to the outside world and allows us to identify bidders internally.

Bidding by submitting a written purchase offer

HUMER, GRANNER & Co GmbH (HGC) offers this option to all prospective buyers who are unable or unwilling to attend the auction in person. A representative of HGC or the auctioneer will bid incrementally on the selected lot(s) up to the maximum bid specified in the written purchase offer.

The written purchase offer must be submitted by midnight on the day before the auction on the HUMER, GRANNER & Co GmbH website. There you will find the option to submit an offer for each vehicle. The offer is only valid once HUMER, GRANNER & Co GmbH has confirmed receipt of the bid by email. A separate bid must be submitted for each vehicle.

For each vehicle, you will find the option to register with a purchase bid for that vehicle at the bottom left.

Bidding as a telephone bidder

Anyone who cannot or does not wish to attend the auction in person can participate in the auction by telephone. During the auction, an employee of HUMER, GRANNER & CO GmbH will call you during the auction to communicate your bid(s) to the auctioneer on your behalf.

Registration as a telephone bidder must be completed by midnight on the day before the auction on the HUMER, GRANNER & Co GmbH website. You will find the registration option for each vehicle there. Registration is only valid once HUMER, GRANNER & Co GmbH has confirmed receipt of the registration by email. A separate registration must be completed for each vehicle.

At the bottom left of each vehicle listing, you will find the option to register as a telephone bidder for that vehicle.

Bidding online – live

This option is available at www.invaluable.com. On the day of the auction, go to this Invaluable website and select the link to our auction. Auction procedure

The auction will be conducted by the auctioneer in ascending order of the catalog. Bids will be made in fixed increments. The hammer falls and the contract is concluded with the words “Going once, going twice, sold” when the highest bid is accepted by the highest bidder.

After the auction

The purchase price consists of the hammer price (= highest bid) and an additional buyer’s fee of 15% (including VAT) of the hammer price. You can find more detailed information in our commission sheet. Payment of the purchase price and collection of the auctioned item must take place no later than one week after the auction. We will work with you as the buyer to arrange transport of the item/vehicle to its final destination.

Commission

As mentioned above, the final purchase price consists of the hammer price and an additional percentage commission. We therefore strongly recommend that you read our terms and conditions, the commission sheet, and the bidding increments before participating in the auction, where you will find further important information on this subject.
